Album review: Pissed Jeans – Half Divorced
Pennsylvanian sludge-punks Pissed Jeans hit the gas on hardcore-fuelled sixth album, Half Divorced.
Pissed Jeans are following 2017’s acclaimed Why Love Now with sixth album Half Divorced – watch the video for lead single Moving On now.
Pissed Jeans are back with a brand-new album.
The Sub Pop quartet will be releasing Half Divorced – the follow-up to 2017’s Why Love Now – on March 1, with frontman Matt Korvette explaining of the title: “If you say something enough or if you just allow it to exist publicly, then it loses its evil monster-in-the-closet thing.”
Musically, he adds that Half Divorced as a whole “has an aggression within it, in terms of saying, ‘I don’t want this reality.’ There’s a power in being able to say, ‘I realise you want me to pay attention to these things, but I’m telling you that they don’t matter. I’m already looking elsewhere.’”
