Oli Sykes Explains Why Bring Me The Horizon's Glastonbury Set Wasn't Streamed

Oli Sykes has explained why Bring Me The Horizon's set from Glastonbury this weekend wasn't available for fans to watch online.

While the BBC tends to cover a whole chunk of artists and stages from the legendary Worthy Farm festival (which, this year was headlined by Stormzy, The Killers and The Cure), Horizon made an executive decision to not participate, due to guitarist Lee Malia being unable to attend, and therefore the group felt insecure about how they'd sound with one of their techs filling in at the last minute.

“In regards to not streaming our set today, it was 100 per cent the band's decision," tweeted Oli afterwards. "We sincerely apologise to our fans that was looking forward to seeing the stream & to @BBC for letting them down after all the support they show us, but we felt we had our reasons… with our lead guitarist out atm & having a tech stepping up and doing as much as he can at such short notice we felt insicure about the pressure we are putting on him… not to mention I’m just an god awful singer and I can’t scream for shit Anymore yknow, etc etc. Sorry to everyone we disappointed!

"Despite this I thought the show was amazing so thank you to everyone who attended!"

Elsewhere on the Glastonbury line-up this year, a mysterious member appeared with BABYMETAL on The Other Stage on Sunday afternoon, IDLES absolutely nailed their set on The Park Stage, and there was also plenty of heaviness from the likes of Gojira, Employed To Serve and Venom Prison.
