Because he’s clearly not already busy enough with a new Metallica album and massive upcoming world tour, frontman James Hetfield is starring in a new dark western thriller, The Thicket.
As reported by Deadline, principal photography has begun in Calgary, Canada on the movie – which also stars Peter Dinklage, Juliette Lewis, Esmé Creed-Miles, Levon Hawke, Leslie Grace, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Macon Blair, Ned Dennehy, Andrew Schulz and Arliss Howard.
It’s not known yet what character Papa Het will play, but it follows his 2019 role as Officer Bob Hayward in the Ted Bundy movie Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile.
The Thicket is an adaptation of the Joe R. Lansdale novel of the same name, and is a long-time passion project from Game Of Thrones’ Peter Dinklage, who is also producing the film. “I’m so very excited to bring Joe Lansdale’s riveting story to the screen,” Peter says. “A journey into the heart of darkness to find love and return it to its rightful place.”
