Metallica are one of the biggest bands on the planet, and as well as heading off on a global headline tour next year, the band are also catering to fans in different countries with their new lyric videos.

As well as an English lyric video for new single Lux Æterna (so we all know exactly the right time to scream, ‘Full speed or nothiiiiiing!’), the band have unveiled new lyric videos in Japanese, German, Spanish and Portuguese. Which is pretty damn cool.

Lux Æterna is taken from ’Tallica’s upcoming album 72 Seasons – the title of which refers to “the first 18 years of our lives that form our true selves”, according to frontman James Hetfield.

“The concept that we were told ‘who we are’ by our parents,” he explained. “A possible pigeonholing around what kind of personality we are. I think the most interesting part of this is the continued study of those core beliefs and how it affects our perception of the world today. Much of our adult experience is re-enactment or reaction to these childhood experiences. Prisoners of childhood or breaking free of those bondages we carry.”

This is in Lux Æterna German:

72 Seasons is due out on April 14, 2023 via Blackened Recordings.
