Iconic amp makers Marshall have unveiled new, smaller versions of their most famous amplifiers.
Announced at this year’s NAMM convention in Los Angeles, Marshall are taking their rock-defining amps from the stadium stages and into the bedrooms of budding rockstars everywhere.
As part of the new Marshall Studio series, you can now get 20W versions of The Studio Classic (JCM800 2203) and The Studio Vintage (JMP 1959SLP). If you saw a rock band in the ‘80s, this is the amp they were using, but now you can bring that classic Marshall sound to your home without terrifying your neighbours.
The new amps feature three ECC83 valves and two EL34 valves, 10” Celestion V-type speakers and the ability to switch between 20W and 5W without any need for an attenuator.
Of the new range, managing direct of Marshall Jon Ellery says: “It is always daunting when tackling a challenge of modernising such iconic tones, but I am delighted, the team have done a brilliant job.
“It is with immense pride we launch these new British built amplifiers and respond to the modern trends. Along with Origin, this is just the beginning of what we have planned for our dedicated fans and the next generation alike.”
The Marshall Studio series is available from all major distributors. For more information, head to the Marshall website.
