Tilly Kingston has just unleashed an accomplished debut EP, Fairytales & Horror Stories.
Featuring breakout singles Best Break Up Ever and Youth Is Wasted, the 18-year-old’s full six-track release is now on streaming.
And it’s an angsty and emotional effort that reflects a lot of what Tilly has experienced in life so far, revealing that, “I struggled for a long time with my identity and who I was. I knew I wasn’t like other kids at my school. I’m a left-of-centre kind of person, and I stuck out like a sore thumb. Lots of them would look at me and think, ‘She’s weird…’ And that led to me being bullied for a while.”
Referencing Paramore, YUNGBLUD and Machine Gun Kelly, Tilly says that she “discovered myself in a way I never had before” when she properly got into our scene – and has now thrown herself whole-heartedly into the rock and pop-punk world.
