American Football announce covers album with Manchester Orchestra, Blondshell, Ethel Cain and more
American Football are celebrating 25 years of their 1999 self-titled debut with not one but two records: a covers album, and a full remastering…
Blondshell releases new single What’s Fair, in which Sabrina Teitelbaum says she was “trying to sift through the past” and “mostly had a lot of questions”.
Blondshell has shared a brand-new single and video, What’s Fair.
Following 2023’s self-titled debut album, plus this year’s Talking Heads cover for A24’s Everyone’s Getting Involved and her Bully collab Docket, Sabrina Teitelbaum’s latest effort is a typically excellent listen – and potentially teases what’s to come from a second record, too…
Sabrina says of the meaning behind the track: “I think that any relationship between a mother and a daughter is inherently complicated. Maybe it’s because of my own relationship, which was grounded in a lot of trauma and loss, but I think it’s always confusing. What are you allowed to expect, what is normal, what behaviour from a parent is okay or not okay etc? And to what extent does ‘normal’ even matter when your experience is all you have.
“I was just trying to sift through the past when I wrote this song and I mostly had a lot of questions.”
