Following his recent team-up with grizzly Clutch frontman Neil Fallon for a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd's classic The Needle And The Spoon, Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton has got together with Cadillac Three man Jaren Johnston for a brand-new Southern-fried jam, Hell & Back.

Taking in influences of outlaw country and blues, the track - Mark's first original solo song since 2019's Anesthetic album - finds him exploring a different side to his playing than often heard in LOG, coming up not that dissimilar to Skynyrd. It also drops a big hint at the direction of future solo work. Check it out to see what we mean...

“Hell & Back was so much fun to cook up," says the beardy six-stringer. "We found just the right balance of southern rock swagger, bluesy grooves, and outlaw vibes. Jaren is a dear friend of mine and such an incredibly talented songwriter and performer. Our whole process was as laid back and natural as the song sounds.”

"I was so stoked when Mark and his team reached out and said he was coming to town to work,” adds Jaren. “I jumped at the chance to write with him and in the process made a great friend. I love the unforced mixture of our individual vibes in ‘Hell & Back’ and I was really happy we snuck a kick ass breakdown in there!”
