King Diamond: "If there is a hell and I go there who cares? I've already faced it"
Talking Metallica, the occult, nearly dying and creating scene classics with Danish icon King Diamond…
Satanic metal showman King Diamond mourned a 4-year-old fan with a touching post on Facebook.
Though it often focuses around topics like evil, chaos, and anger, heavy metal will always have a place in its heart for children. The pure appreciation that a child has for the things they love is in many ways similar to the complete devotion metal fans have for their favorite music. So while some might not see satanic metal star King Diamond as the kind of artist who would mourn the loss of a child, they'd be entirely wrong, as evidenced by the touching memorial the vocalist posted on his Facebook over the loss of a 4-year-old fan.
King Diamond posted an image to Facebook of himself posing with several fans, including two parents, Jeanne and Stone, with their young daughter Larissa. Diamond wrote the following caption:
"This beautiful young King Diamond fan left us unexpectedly, at the age of four.
"She was as true of a fan as you could ever have. I saw her the first time at our Anaheim show this past December, sitting on the shoulders of her father, four rows into the audience, singing along with every single word, all through the show.
"Giving horns and waving, she actually blew my mind and as soon as we got off stage, I asked one of our people to try and get a hold of her and her parents so we could meet them backstage.

"We had a nice long talk, they were amazing people, and we took some photos and hung out for a while, and little Larissa was just shining like a jewel.
"Unfortunately that was the only time I got to meet her face to face, but I do look forward to hear more about her in the future, from her parents.
"Larissa, I wish you a safe journey to wherever it is you go, and I hope someday to meet you again. You were so very special and left so way too early.
"Stay Heavy, little one, you are very very loved."
A GoFundMe has been launched to help Jeanne and Stone through their loss, and is still open for donations. Everyone at Kerrang! sends their hearts out to the couple in this unbelievably difficult time.
King Diamond will be on tour this summer with his band Mercyful Fate at a series of festival dates later this year. U.S. fans can catch them at Psycho Las Vegas this August.
