Watch the captivating first trailer for Joker: Folie À Deux

Following the release of a beautiful new movie poster last week, Warner Bros. Pictures have now finally shared the first official trailer for Joker: Folie À Deux.

This new, proper look at the highly-anticipated sequel to 2019’s brilliant Joker sees Joaquin Phoenix’s iconic Arthur Fleck spending his days Gotham City’s Arkham Asylum, where, naturally, he meets Harley Quinn – played by Lady Gaga.

It was previously reported that Folie À Deux will be a musical and the trailer does hint at that, though we don’t get to hear any potential material just yet. And director Todd Phillips alluded to this onstage at CinemaCon on Tuesday night: “It’s a film where music is an essential element. To me, that doesn’t veer too far from the first film…” (via Entertainment Weekly).

Nevertheless, it all looks spectacularly dark, cinematic and enthralling – and we get a sneak peek at none other than Steve Coogan in the movie, too!

Joker: Folie À Deux will hit cinemas on October 4. Check out the trailer below:
