Joey Jordison: Official fundraiser announced to release VIMIC’s debut album
Joey Jordison’s family have revealed that VIMIC’s debut album Open Your Omen will be getting its release this year, via a Kickstarter launching on Monday.
The former Slipknot drummer returns with his new band.
It's good to see modern day drum icon Joey Jordison back producing heavy music again. If you recall Jordison was diagnosed with Acute Transverse Myelitis back in 2012, which is a debilitating neurological condition. While he took many months out for rehabilitation, he got back behind the kit and returned with his new band, VIMIC, in May 2016.
Since then, they've been working away on their debut album, which will be with us in early 2018 and will be called Open Your Omen. Ahead of the release of the LP, they've revealed a new track - featuring thrash legend Dave Mustaine - titled Fail Me (My Temple).
Mustaine also assisted on the mastering and mixing of the upcoming LP - that's a pretty cool thing to know.

Talking about the record, Jordison said: “The riffs, lyrics, and drums of Open Your Omen will tell you a lot. We started this record when I was coming out of the Acute Transverse Myelitis condition. It’s literally what saved me and helped me get back to where I’m healthier than ever. These guys and this album pushed me to not only relearn how to walk, but how to play the drums again. Open Your Omen is the rebirth of the rest of my life.”
