Exclusive: Joe Cardamone's Gritty, Violent New Video for East Side No One
The former frontman of LA's The Icarus Line is back with an ambitious new musical project… and a new music video to boot.
"I don’t care about bands any more," he told Clash earlier this year. "It just feels fucking retro."
Joe Cardamone, formerly of The Icarus Line, has put together a solo record.
"I don’t care about bands any more," he told Clash earlier this year. "It just feels fucking retro. It just feels like an antiquated configuration and I understand that people enjoy seeing it, but to me, I’ve never been interested in doing any of this shit unless I feel like I’m fucking peeling the thing forward a little bit, even if I’m not but I need to feel like I am. That’s good enough for me."
"Peeling the thing forward a little bit" is a phrase that applies to Cardamone's sound, certainly. A melange of spoken word, rap and industrial noise, it's a fun ol' ride that feels very 'skeezy LA'. Give it a whirl:
