The big review: Damnation Festival 2024
What happened when Nails, Gatecreeper, Cradle Of Filth and a ton more brought the noise to Manchester for the biggest Damnation Festival yet.
It's the first half of his new double A-side release, which also features Arcane Roots' Andrew Groves!
Two of the UK's finest musicians, Jamie Lenman and Employed To Serve's Justine Jones, have teamed up for a new single (and video), Long Gone.
The track – which is premiering exclusively with K! below – is part of Jamie's brand-new double A-side single, also featuring the brilliant Andrew Groves from Arcane Roots on new tune Irrelevant. And if the collaboration on Long Gone is anything to go by, we're super-excited to hear that one, too.
Of the ace Long Gone, Jamie says: "This track is heavier than anything on [recent album] Devolver, but has still got that big chorus and it was made by the same people so it feels of a piece. It's about the dangers of nostalgia and being careful what you wish for, which is a theme that's present on the record also. Even though it's quite aggressive it still sounds quite bouncy and summer-y to me, perfect for belting out at the festivals! I met Justine when we had Employed To Serve at Lenmania last year, we did a song together and it was awesome. I thought it'd be great to get her on record and the verses on this track seemed like a perfect fit – she just let it rip with no warm-up and blew our faces off! Plus she's a local girl so she gets all my references. If I drop Woking Peacocks Centre into the convo she knows where I'm at."
Jamie's new A-side will be available digitally from June 8, as well as limited-edition marble blue on July 27 via Big Scary Monsters – pre-order that right here.
