YUNGBLUD: “I made a f*cking rock opera double album”
Having been busy putting together the line-up for next year’s Bludfest, YUNGBLUD has revealed he’s also been working on music that “looks like it’s going to be a double album”.
Looks like there might be a collaboration on the way between YUNGBLUD and Post Malone.
Doncaster alternative star YUNGBLUD had an absolutely huge 2019, releasing a new EP, the underrated youth, headlining venues like London's massive O2 Academy Brixton, and working with some of music's biggest names.
Now, the 22-year-old – real name Dominic Harrison – is set to keep that ball rolling into 2020, looking ahead to the release of his forthcoming second album (the follow-up to 2018's 21st Century Liability). Up until this point, YUNGBLUD has collaborated with the likes of blink-182's Travis Barker, Machine Gun Kelly, Marshmello and blackbear – and with album number two, he very well could be adding hip-hop superstar Post Malone to that list.
When asked by MusicFeeds if the musician has any collabs coming this year, YUNGBLUD reveals: "There is a mental one coming at the start of [2020]. I can’t say who it is yet but he is such a visionary artist. So fucking sick, and he is a bridge between hip-hop and rock'n'roll. I’ll give you a clue: the first time that I heard about him and the first time that I saw that he was such a clear bridge between hip-hop and rock'n'roll was in an Australian press outlet. The Aussies liked him."
After the interviewer responds, "Oh my god, I’m so curious! Is it Post Malone?" YUNGBLUD then comments: "I can’t say, but I’m glad you’re curious (laughs). You’ll have to wait ’til 2020."

So that's not a denial, then! Given that Post has also enjoyed many successful musical partnerships of late – including The Prince Of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne – a Yungblud and Post Malone song could well be on the cards. And that will also more than make up for the rumoured Bring Me The Horizon x Post Malone collab, which seemingly never came to fruition.
As for the rest of YUNGBLUD's new album, though? He reveals that fans can expect, "Typical YUNGBLUD. Typical me. I’m just trying to push the boundaries with new sounds and new topics. It’s a coming-of-age record. It’s a record about the experiences that I’ve had. I’ve grown up five years this year. I’ve been through so much. After everything, all the bullshit, I’ve just figured out that it’s just a weird time in my life and that it’s all going to be okay."
