Travis Barker reveals he’s recorded two albums in the past two months
blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has been very busy in the studio since the band got back from tour…
The potential titles for blink-182's follow-up to California are, um, interesting…
While it doesn't look like we'll get a new blink-182 album now until "later on in the summer", the follow-up to 2016’s California does already have a couple of interesting working titles – one of which might even stick.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Beats 1, the trio – Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker and Matt Skiba – revealed that BOJMIR is the current main contender for their new album title, which, as Travis points out, "is rimjob spelled backwards." Lovely.
"But we're trying to make it fancy," continues Mark. "It's rimjob spelled backwards but it's pronounced 'boh-mir' – the 'j' is silent in this iteration."
The band go on to joke about how its pronunciation gives it much more fancy implications ("Can I have a glass of that 94 bojmir, please?"), before adding that another potential title is simply Pretty Nuts.
Given that when blink reposted their interview on Twitter yesterday (July 3) and tweeted that they were "talking BOJMIR", it seems as though it is still winning the race. Well, it works for us, tbh.
Travis has also seemingly been teasing the title for a little while now…
Mark also recently explained why there was a tiny delay in new material, revealing that the creative juices have been flowing this time around.
“We keep writing more and more songs and the songs keep getting better and better,” he told Alt 98.7. “Originally I thought we were going to have an album out in June, but we keep adding more songs, so probably later on in the summer."
