Iron Maiden have announced their new touring drummer
Following Nicko McBrain’s retirement from touring, Iron Maiden have revealed that “a name familiar to many of our fans” will be stepping in next year.
That’s a heavy metal plane for ya…
According to Germany’s Dortmund airport, Iron Maiden’s new plane Ed Force One 747-400 is too much heavy metal to even land there.
Bruce Dickinson and co. were set to touch down at the airport when they headline Rock im Revier festival on May 27, but since the new plane (the specs of which can be checked out below) is heavier than their previous 757-200 incarnation of Ed Force One, they’ll have to land in Düsseldorf, Germany instead and get to their destination via bus.
Iron Maiden headline Download Festival in June. For more details, and to buy tickets visit Downloadfestival.co.uk.
