Wolfgang Van Halen honours dad Eddie on epic new Mammoth WVH single
Listen to Mammoth WVH’s new single Take A Bow, which features Wolfgang using his late father Eddie Van Halen’s Frankenstein guitar and Marshall head.
A 17-foot-tall Eddie Van Halen mural was unveiled on what would have been the guitarist's 66th birthday.
To mark what would have been the late, great Eddie Van Halen's 66th birthday on January 26, Guitar Center have unveiled an awesome mural for the guitar god at their Hollywood store.
The epic, 17-foot-tall art, featuring Eddie mid-solo jamming out on his iconic Frankenstrat axe, was created by Robert Vargas. The Los Angeles artist said in a statement: “Eddie was one of my creative heroes. When I was young, the debut Van Halen record was the first album I ever owned. He influenced me over the years in so many different ways.
“As soon as the news hit of his passing, I knew I had to do something creative to memorialise him, and Guitar Center was the obvious venue. Right here on the Sunset Strip, where the band made their bones – I can’t think of a better place for this tribute to him, and I thank Guitar Center for giving me the canvas to share it with the world.”

Robert also took to Instagram to thank fans for their support during the whole process.
"Your collective energy powered me through to complete this mural that is near to my heart," he wrote. "Also, much love to everyone of you that stopped by while I was creating this mural. I'm looking forward to bringing you along on my next journey coming soon!"
Guitar Center, meanwhile, announced of the piece: "This mural celebrates the passion and virtuosity of Eddie's playing that has and will continue to inspire generations of musicians."
Eddie tragically passed away last October at the age of 65, losing his battle with cancer.
