Fresh off winning two Kerrang! Awards the night before, Metallica rolled into London's Twickenham Stadium with their epic WorldWired show. With giant screens looming over the stage from behind, and the infamous Snakepit down front, the Metallica boys rocketed through a whopping 18-song set that spanned all aspects of their career.
Opening on the title track from their latest album and ending on the heavy metal anthem Enter Sandman, the thrash icons cherrypicked a mix of legit ragers and deep cuts including No Leaf Clover, Frantic, The Unforgiven and For Whom The Bell Tolls.
But that's not all. As has become tradition between Kirk Hammett and Rob Trujillo, the pair covered a location-specific track for one night only, and at Twickenham that was Killers by Iron Maiden.
Blasting out the heavy for over two-and-a-half hours, backed-up by mindboggling production, this was exactly what a stadium metal show should be. Come back soon, please.
