Album Review: Hellyeah - Welcome Home
Hellyeah honour the memory of Vinnie Paul on Welcome Home…
Hellyeah will pay tribute to Vinnie Paul at a special concert in Las Vegas
Hellyeah have announced a special one-off concert to celebrate the life of late-drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott.
Vinnie Paul died last year at the age of 54 as a result of heart disease (dilated cardiomyopathy). He was buried alongside his brother and Pantera bandmate Dimebag Darrell in Texas.
To pay tribute to the life and legacy of Vinnie, his former band Hellyeah have revealed details of A Celebration Of The Life Of Vinnie Paul – a one-off show in Las Vegas this May.
Posting on the band’s official Facebook page, Hellyeah say: “Please join us, together, with our metal family, friends, and fans, to celebrate the life of our brother and bandmate with a very special One Night Only Event - “HELLYEAH: A Celebration Of The Life Of Vinnie Paul” at House of Blues Las Vegas Saturday May 11.”
Tickets for the special event go on sale Friday March 8 at 10am PST.
There has been no formal announcement on who will be drumming at the event, but our guess is that a number of special guests will take it in turns to pay homage to their fallen friend throughout the night.
Posting in the comments on the Facebook announcement, the band suggested that they will journey further, so this could be the start of something very big for Hellyeah.
