Halsey is creating and writing a “dark comedy TV series” called Bloodlust
Following October’s The Great Impersonator album, Halsey is cracking on with a whole new project alongside director Ti West.
Halsey has finally been able to share new single So Good, after their label previously wanted them to “fake a viral moment on TikTok” before its release.
After revealing in May that they had a new song ready to go but Capitol Records wouldn't drop it until they could “fake a viral moment on TikTok”, Halsey has finally been able to share So Good.
Having started a lot of conversation online about artists and their social media requirements, Halsey's situation has now resolved with the release of the track, which had seemingly been held back due to the desire for it to make a huge splash on TikTok. “Everything is marketing,” said Halsey at the time. “And [the label] are doing this to basically every artist these days.” Capitol then responded that they were there to "support" Halsey, and "hope that we can continue to have these critical conversations."
Anyway, on to the track itself! The singer shared on Twitter that So Good is "about the friend that was always there for me, who I realised I was in love with one day". Halsey also proudly added that, "I think this is the biggest and best reaction to a song release I have ever seen from you guys. I’m truly giddy. All of this was so worth it. I had a gut feeling this was a good one."
