Green Day side-project The Coverups announce 2025 London show
Surprise! Billie Joe Armstrong will be back in London next month for another special show with his side-project The Coverups.
A couple of months on from the album’s 30th anniversary, the Library of Congress has just selected Green Day’s Dookie for the 2024 National Recording Registry…
As the band gear up to play the album live pretty much all year (along with American Idiot) on The Saviors Tour, Green Day have announced that Dookie has been inducted into the National Recording Registry.
The band’s iconic 1994 third LP has made the cut in 2024, just a few months on from its 30th anniversary, joining 24 other records in the Library of Congress’ exclusive annual list of albums deemed “culturally, historically or aesthetically significant”.
A description on the LOC’s website explains that each year they pick 25 recordings “showcasing the range and diversity of American recorded sound heritage in order to increase preservation awareness”.
And now Dookie is a part of a coveted list of 600 titles in the National Recording Registry – so big congrats, Green Day!
