“V is coming”: Ghost tease new Papa V Perpetua appearance at Sabbath’s summer mega-gig
Goodbye, Papa Emeritus IV! Looks like we’ll be meeting Papa V Perpetua at Villa Park for Black Sabbath’s final show in July…
The reign of Papa Emeritus III is over; meet your new Papa!
Ghost have introduced the world to their new frontman, Papa Emeritus Zero, thus closing the era of Papa Emeritus III.
If you don't know by now, with every album/EP cycle, vocalist Tobias Forge brings forth a new Papa. In their recent headline show in Gothenburg, Papa Emeritus III was taken offstage by two security guards at the end of their set. Moments later, an elderly, slightly frail, new Papa entered the stage, along with an oxygen mask and walking stick.
Talking to the crowd, he said: “I am Papa Emeritus Zero. The party is over and now a new era begins. The Middle Ages begin now.”
Ghost have recently wrapped up their Meliora album and Popestar EP cycles, and the introduction of the new Papa can only mean one thing: a new album.
