Exclusive: The new video from Ohio up-and-comers for your health is a blast of muscle-pulling madness.
Ohio's for your health have nailed the convulsing energy of classic screamo. That's not to say that the Columbus quartet are just playing tribute songs to those that came before them -- the band bristle with an anxiety that feels inherently modern, born of the last decade's confusion. It's that they don't feel the need to tone down or candy-coat their volatile sound; instead, they surge forward with pummeling momentum, as though caught in the throes of a panic attack. The result may sound more like grindcore than emo at times, but its still gripped in an agitated vulnerability that old-school screamo fans will understand.
for your health's new video for the track Charlie Brown Had Gotta Be Damn Near Public Domain By Now, from their recent Death Of Spring split with Shin Guard, visually represents this to a certain extent. Given that the song is less than a minute long, it's not as though the band have much time to tell a narrative story. Instead, the footage is a barrage of performance close-ups that make one feel as though they're in the rehearsal space alongside them, amid a crackling haze of ozone and sweat.

"Our song Charlie Brown Has Gotta Be Damn Near Public Domain By Now is fundamentally about my fear of an afterlife," says vocalist Hayden Rodriguez. "When I die, I just want to be worm food. I think it can be good to find comfort in the inevitable sometimes. The title of the song kinda stems from that. We really wanted to use the Charlie Brown 'good grief' sample and we weren't really sure if it was something we could get in trouble for but we definitely were not going to research it."
