First poster for James Gunn’s Superman unveiled; trailer release date confirmed

James Gunn and Warner Bros. Pictures have given comic book fans an early festive treat with the release of the first official poster for next summer’s Superman.

With a proper teaser trailer set to arrive at 6am PST this Thursday, December 19, a brand-new image as David Corenswet in the titular role – with the caption ‘Look up’ – has been unveiled to get people even more ready…

The film, which is due out on July 11, also includes the likes of Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, plus Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell.

A press release from Warner promises of the movie: “In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.”
