Who are Slipknot’s fans?
We head down to Slipknot’s Here Comes The Pain tour in Manchester to meet the Maggots that had their lives changed forever by nine masked men from the cornfields…
Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor discusses the band's latest addition: "He's a great dude and is killing it, man."
It's now been three months since Slipknot unveiled their mysterious new member in the video for epic comeback single Unsainted, and while we're still no closer to finding out their identity, frontman Corey Taylor has been praising the percussionist affectionately known as 'Tortilla Man'.
Speaking on Apple Music's Beats 1 to Zane Lowe, Corey was asked about the band having a new member and what they have to do to become 'official'. He responded: "You've got to wear the tortilla on your face first of all, and the audience has to figure out who you are. Tortilla face. He's doing great. He's a great dude and is killing it, man. It's kind of cool. It's brought this whole new energy to everybody as well. So it's a lot of fun to watch him."
Of course, when Kerrang! enquired as to what Tortilla Man's identity was back in May, Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan shut us down immediately…
“The position you may or may not be talking about is nobody’s fucking business,” Clown said, before emphasising that it’ll be up to the fans to make up their own minds once they catch Slipknot performing live across the world this year: “The proof is in the pudding.”
Slipknot's upcoming album We Are Not Your Kind will be released this Friday via Roadrunner Records.
