Bring Me The Horizon celebrate one billion streams in the UK

Ironically, after just releasing some incredibly cool and thought-out physical editions of POST HUMAN: NeX GEn last Friday, Bring Me The Horizon have hit a huge streaming milestone.

The Sheffield superstars have surpassed a whopping one billion streams in the UK, with the BRITs presenting Oli Sykes and co. with a BRIT Billion Award to signify the achievement.

Sharing a photo of the frontman proudly holding the award, the BRITs write: “Following their first ever BRIT Awards win earlier in the year for Best Rock/Alternative Act, @bmthofficial receive their BRIT Billion Award for hitting one billion streams in the UK.”

It’s little wonder they’ve managed it, to be fair, given how quickly NeX GEn started racking up the numbers. In fact, immediately after the record’s release, it amassed 70 million streams and made BMTH ‘the most streamed rock band on the planet’ that week.

Upon the digital-only release in May, Oli shared: “It’s a real concept album, with a full narrative that connects to the first record, but the concept is hidden and buried.

“Some people aren’t going to be interested, but for some people it could be like a self-help book. There’s a lot of things in there, some of it’s quite clear, but a lot of it cryptic and hidden. People are gonna have to work it out.”
