Travis Barker reveals he’s recorded two albums in the past two months
blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has been very busy in the studio since the band got back from tour…
Brace yourselves, blink-182 fans: the band's new single Quarantine is arriving this Friday!
Back in May, we learned that blink-182 had written and recorded a brand-new single called Quarantine, and now – finally – the pop-punks are gearing up to release it.
Though Travis Barker had originally estimated that we'd be hearing the track much sooner, Quarantine is set to come out tomorrow, August 7. Why now? Well, blink unveiled the single's attention-grabbing artwork on Twitter overnight, posting, “100 RTs and we release this song Friday.” At the time of writing, it's almost at 3,000 retweets. We think you may have underestimated your fanbase slightly there, chaps…
The drummer recently teased that it’s going to be “a blink favourite. It’ll be like all our fan favourites. It’s incredible.”
Of course, Travis has already been delivering the pop-punk goods during lockdown, having released the absolutely ace concert for aliens with Machine Gun Kelly.
Bassist Mark Hoppus, meanwhile, is also potentially working on stuff with his Simple Creatures bandmate Alex Gaskarth.
“We’re already working on potential quarantine music while we’re all on lockdown,” Alex said. “[Mark]’s in Idaho – he escaped while he still could – and I’m stuck home in Maryland, so we won’t be doing it in person but we’re sending ideas back and forth and we’re always talking about what the next steps are for Simple Creatures. It’s in the works.”
