Between You & Me’s track-by-track guide to new EP SH!T YEAH
Ahead of its release on Friday, Between You & Me take us inside the tracks – and various moods – on their new EP SH!T YEAH.
Melbourne pop-punks Between You & Me have announced in a statement that they are taking “time and space to live our adult existence”.
Between You & Me have wrapped up a year in which they released six-track EP SH!T YEAH, played headline shows over here and even supported Busted in their home country with the news that, going into 2025, they’re taking a break.
The Melbourne pop-punks say they’re going on hiatus in order to enjoy “time and space to live our adult existence”, admitting that, currently, “We’re not sure what’s next for BYAM, or if there will be anything more, and if this is it, we are immensely grateful for the journey we were able to go on.”
A full statement reads: “After being a band for over 8 years, it feels like 2024 was a culmination of a lot of hard work. It also feels like a year where we finally reached ‘the finish line’ for Between You & Me. For the first time, BYAM headlined in the UK and USA. A dream we never thought could be possible – selling out shows on the other side of the world. We released our independent EP SH!T YEAH. We also headlined Australia, twice, including our biggest ever shows and heading to regional Australia for the first time.
“In an industry where you are always looking for the next big opportunity and continuously feeling unfulfilled, 2024 was our year to reflect on the wild things we’ve been able to achieve. The journey for us has been slow and gradual with a lot of bumps in the road, but for a band without a label or management, it’s time to smell the roses.
“We’ve spent our lives chasing the ‘dream’ and for now, we are content with taking time away from BYAM. A hiatus if you will, but more so time and space to live our adult existence. We’re not sure what’s next for BYAM, or if there will be anything more, and if this is it, we are immensely grateful for the journey we were able to go on. Thank you to everyone for a special 2024. To those that came to a show, bought some merch, said hello, listened to our music. We are truly thankful that you decided to support 5 people from Australia chasing their dreams.”
All the best, BYAM!
