Behemoth frontman Nergal has revealed he was starstruck when he met Judas Priest vocalist Rob Halford, who, it turned out, was a fan of the Polish blackened metallers.
“I met Rob a couple of times,” says Nergal. “I met him at the last Slayer show [of their North America tour]. We were running from room to room, signing each other’s posters and all the memorabilia stuff. I’m rushing into Slayer’s room without even knocking on the door, because that’s how chaotic the whole day looked like.
“I entered the room and it’s just quiet, like 10 people; Kerry King is standing next to Rob Halford and they’re watching something," he continues. "I’m like, 'Sorry' and head back off. Then I was like, ‘Shit, I’m re-entering’, so I went back in and pretending it’s natural circumstances for myself. I approach them and say ‘'Hi' to Rob, and Kerry was like, ‘Yeah, we were just watching that clip of you jamming with us.’
“I was like ‘Holy fuck’," he says. "I was starstruck. So, thanks Rob, for being a Metal God and supporting small fish as well!"
