Panic! At The Disco and blink-182 set to headline When We Were Young 2025
Yes, and the rest of the Las Vegas mega-fest’s line-up is absolutely stacked, as ever, including the return of letlive.
Avril shares that her seventh LP is “fast”, “fun” and “pure rock’n’roll”, and will feature the likes of WILLOW, Machine Gun Kelly and “some bands that have been around for a while”…
Avril Lavigne has gone into detail about her upcoming seventh album – which is due out "at the top of" 2022.
As well as embracing her throwback influences like blink-182, Green Day and NOFX, the pop-punk star reveals that she has also collaborated with “some bands that have been around for a while” on the record, plus WILLOW, Machine Gun Kelly and blackbear.
When asked by Entertainment Weekly about the inspiration behind the as-yet-untitled pop-punk record, Avril shares, "We used live guitars and live drums and didn't hold back, and just got to do exactly what I wanted and what I feel like I've probably wanted to do for a long time."
She also describes the music as "fast. It's fun. It's just pure rock'n'roll from front to back."
Discussing the guests she's recruited for the record, Avril teases: "There are a few other features, some iconic musicians that have been around for like 20 years ago or more, and then some more newer, more recent musicians. Having all these features on the record has been really fun.
"I've been working with such a cool group of people from this scene, so there's just a lot of new and fresh energy on this album. I'm really honoured to have worked with and to have collaborated with such talented people and successful musicians that I admire."
