Kerrang! has a long and storied history with Metallica. We’ve championed them since they were a garage band in Los Angeles, and we’re still here, screaming along to Spit Out The Bone on their gargantuan WorldWired stadium tour.
To celebrate this relationships, and to provide their countless fans with genuine insight into the band they love, we’re joining forces with House Of Vans to put up a unique exhibition that will run for over a month from June 18 at their London venue in Waterloo.
Dubbed Hardwired… And Early Dayz, the exhibition will be split into two sections. Hardwired will focus on the band’s latest album, including a selection of Kerrang! covers, live imagery, memorabilia and never-before-seen photos from award-winning photographer Tom Barnes.
The Early Dayz section will be just that, a trip down memory lane from those first demos to …And Justice For All, all told through the pages of Kerrang! magazine. There’ll be iconic covers, bespoke artwork, their first features (before Cliff and Kirk had even joined!) and pieces of K! ephemera from those early days.
There's also a section devoted to Metallica's incredible gig at the House Of Vans in 2016, featuring memorabilia and live footage from the show.
