You can now listen to the original School Of Rock soundtrack on streaming

See Jack Black – aka Dewey Finn – celebrating the original School Of Rock soundtrack hitting streaming services for the first time ever!

More than two decades on from the beloved movie’s release, the School Of Rock soundtrack has hit streaming services.

An 18-track official School Of Rock compilation is now available on Spotify for the first time ever, comprising of ‘music from and inspired by the motion picture’. So that includes classic tracks by the likes of Led Zeppelin and Stevie Nicks, as well as School Of Rock cast songs such as Your Head, Your Mind, Your Brain… and I Pledge Allegiance To The Band.

See Jack himself – who of course plays Dewey Finn in the movie – announce the digital release of the soundtrack on TikTok below:

A few months ago, Jack Black told JOE that he’d be up for doing a School Of Rock sequel – but it just doesn’t seem like there’s the time right now.

“I wish there’d be a School of Rock 2 Electric Boogaloo,” Jack admitted. “I’m ready. You know Mike White wrote the first one and he’s a genius. And we’d have to have Mike White back in the saddle, but he’s real busy right now with White Lotus, the best show on TV.”

Also potentially in the pipeline is another Tenacious D album, but again, it’s all just a matter of timing.

Back in April, Kyle Gass said in an interview that, “We have to finish the new record. We’ve been working on it, we have a very strict six-year cycle… I think we might be a little overdue. We gotta do it this year. We can feel the heat too, but you know, it’s gotta percolate. We got to fit in between Jack’s very busy film schedule. But we’re going to do it.”

Anyway, until then, listen to School Of Rock (Music From And Inspired By The Motion Picture) below:
