Watch the epic first trailer for Ridley Scott’s Gladiator II, starring Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal and more
Paramount Pictures have just unveiled a mega three-minute look at Ridley Scott’s star-studded Gladiator II, which will hit cinemas this November.
The first trailer for this winter’s huge Gladiator II has just arrived!
The Ridley Scott-directed sequel to 2000’s iconic Gladiator stars Paul Mescal in the lead role as Lucius Verus, coming up against Pedro Pascal’s character general Marcus Acacius as well as fellow antagonists Emperor Caracalla (played by Fred Hechinger) and Emperor Geta (aka Stranger Things metalhead favourite Joseph Quinn). Also cast in Gladiator II are Lior Raz, Derek Jacobi, Connie Nielsen and Denzel Washington.
A synopsis promises an “epic saga of power, intrigue and vengeance set in Ancient Rome”, explaining how: “Years after witnessing the death of the revered hero Maximus at the hands of his uncle, Lucius (Paul Mescal) is forced to enter the Colosseum after his home is conquered by the tyrannical Emperors who now lead Rome with an iron fist. With rage in his heart and the future of the Empire at stake, Lucius must look to his past to find strength and honor to return the glory of Rome to its people.”
Gladiator II will land in cinemas on November 15.
