Underside Get Wild And Fight Back In New Video
The Nepalese metallers take on corruption in their latest clip for Wild
Nepalese metal crew Underside have had a killer 2019 so far. They've toured the UK with Cancer Bats, as well as absolutely destroying Download in June. But while their shows come with a great big helping of banter and having a laugh, they're also serious about their message. Case in point: the lyrics to their new song, Wild, in part about their home city, Nepal's capital, Kathmandu.
"Wild is about the reality of our society we live in where people in position and place are corrupt to their bones - like vultures feasting on their prey, you know," they explain. "Wildest things happens in this place and no one is accountable for their actions."

But in keeping with their dedication to being constructive and trying to solve problems, the band are keen to throw light on what they love about their home, as well as throw shade on the problems.
"Our beautiful city has been degraded to one of the most polluted and an unmanaged city in the world and it still is okay," they continue. "No one cares, no one bothers that’s how fucking WILD this place has become. As much as we choose to portrait the dark side of it, we felt the balance approached would be to shine on the bright side of it as well. In this case, the monk. So you could say it’s the amalgam of chaos and beauty and our interpretation of our society while showing the aesthetic of Kathmandu and our wild metal scene."
