Trivium Are Teasing A New Single, Catastrophist
Brace yourselves: it looks like there's a brand-new Trivium single arriving this Friday.
Update: Catastrophist is coming 9am NY / 6am LA / 2pm UK time!
Original story: Exciting news is emerging from the Trivium camp: while the Florida metal titans have been posting cryptic images on their social media for the past week, it looks as though the band are finally gearing up to release a brand-new single.
Matt Heafy and co. were recently announced as support on the mammoth Megadeth and Lamb Of God U.S. tour this year, and now it looks as though they'll have at least one new track to perform while they're on the road: Catastrophist. Presumably it's the first single to be taken from their new album – the follow-up to The Sin And The Sentence – with a 40-second video teaser looking suitably mysterious (and epic).

Of course, frontman Matt has been very busy of late covering all sorts of rock and metal songs – from Slipknot's Solway Firth to Bullet For My Valentine's Tears Don't Fall. But it looks like he might have also found the time to potentially regroup with Sin… producer Josh Wilbur; guitarist Corey Beaulieu told The Metal Teddy Bear Experience back in 2018 that the band "definitely" wanted to work with him again.
"Once we worked with him and became friends with him, his personality and his vibe and energy is the perfect combo with how we are as a band and how we like to work and how we like the vibe of making a record," he said. "He fit right in."
Anyway, check out the teaser for Catastrophist below – and stay tuned for more news when we have it.
