Trent Reznor working on new Nine Inch Nails material soon after Oscars win

After scooping another Oscar, Trent Reznor said on the night of the awards (April 25) that focus would be back on Nine Inch Nails "probably tomorrow".

Last night (April 25) Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, along with musician Jon Batiste, followed their collective recent Golden Globes win by picking up the Best Original Score Oscar for Disney and Pixar movie Soul.

Rather than simply cruising on their latest achievements in the film world, though, Trent and Atticus revealed that they're ready to get back to their other job, with the frontman suggesting work will be starting on new NIN material incredibly soon.

Speaking at the ceremony, Trent explained of what's to come: "Ten years ago, when we did The Social Network, which is the first film that we worked on, it was such a great experience. We just came out of it inspired and re‑energised, and it was working on a medium we hadn't done before and learned so much, that we felt like, 'Hey, let's do a Nine Inch Nails record; let's go on tour.'

"And what we've tried to do since then is break it up where we do some rock music, we come back and do some film work," he continued. "We've just done three pretty big films in Watchmen, Mank, and Soul in a row. We should be on tour but COVID has prevented that."

"We are planning on working on Nine Inch Nails material as soon as…" he added "…probably tomorrow."
