Torus announce self-titled debut album, share anthemic single When It Comes
Get ready to belt along to Torus’ banging new single When It Comes, which is “a song all about that exciting feeling you get when you’re breaking out of a long, frustrating and difficult time”.
After catching our attention with 2022 debut EP Sail, Torus have just announced details of their first proper full-length.
The trio – vocalist/guitarist Alfie Glass, bassist/vocalist Harry Quinn and drummer Jack Orr – will be releasing their self-titled debut on September 13 via MNRK / Inside Job, and they call it “the best version and clearest realisation” of their aims as a band.
“The sound of Torus is one that we aim to take simple, catchy hooks with good songwriting at their heart, and then make them heavy,” explains Alfie.
You can absolutely hear that on new single When It Comes below, which Alfie says “is a song all about that exciting feeling you get when you’re breaking out of a long, frustrating and difficult time.
“It was written around the time there was a huge amount of tension in the band and also me dealing with my post-break-up mess. It’s that feeling when you can see the light at the end of the tunnel and know it’s all gonna turn round for the better.”
