Tool was recently announced as one of the headliners for this year’s Bonnaroo Festival, alongside Lizzo and Tame Impala.
Tool is currently on a US tour with Author & Punisher, and in February will play their first New Zealand and Australia shows in six years.
For 13 years, fans waited for Tool’s fifth album, which was surrounded by rumors, theories and false starts. Last year, the album finally came out. The highly-anticipated Fear Inoculum sold 344,285 in 2019 and earned a 5K review.
“All these other bands are writing songs to do this or that, but our only concern is where we meet,” said drummer Danny Carey. “When we get in that room, where it takes us, that’s where it goes. Four years ago when we were looking at this, I wanted to try to do a record that was one giant song.”
