Testament Cancel Milan Show Due to Coronavirus

Testament have had to cancel their Milan date because of concerns over the coronavirus.

Bay Area thrash band Testament are currently on The Bay Strikes Back Tour across Europe with Exodus and Death Angel. Unfortunately, they’ve had to cancel their February 25 show at Trezzo Live Club in Milan, after the local government suspended public events out of concern over the coronavirus outbreak in the region.

“We’re very sorry we’re not going to make it,” vocalist Chuck Billy said in a video posted to social media. “We love coming there to perform for Italy -- probably our favorite place in the world to come.”

He also mentioned that they would be rescheduling the show.

“Because of this virus, safety must be first and foremost,” he said. “So again, we apologize, and for you there in Milan, stay safe, stay healthy and hopefully we get through all this together.”

Coronavirus has become a growing health concern as the number of cases and countries affected have increased. Italy has the highest number of coronavirus cases outside of Asia, with most of them in the northern regions of Veneto and Lombardy, which is where Milan is. As of Wednesday, there were 374 confirmed cases and 12 deaths in Italy. Cases in Austria, Croatia, Greece and Switzerland and the first Latin American case in Brazil have all been linked to travelers to Italy. Several towns in the regions of Lombardy and Veneto are under lockdown, with events cancelled and museums closed.

While it’s disappointing to hear about show cancellations, health and safety comes first. Fans can still catch Testament on these remaining dates:
