Suited-up Dave Grohl makes Wimbledon appearance between Foo Fighters summer shows

In between some mega Foo Fighters shows in Europe, a sharply-dressed Dave Grohl turned up to Centre Court yesterday to enjoy Wimbledon and make some predictions (well, not so much on that last part).

From two incredible London shows to bringing out Geezer Butler in Birmingham and then headlining France’s Hellfest on Sunday, Foo Fighters have had a busy summer (with a few more dates in Europe still to come).

And yet Dave Grohl also managed to squeeze in a very civilised visit to Wimbledon yesterday, July 2, for the second day of the tennis extravaganza. The frontman and his wife Jordyn Blum hit the Royal Box, with Dave notably ditching his usual onstage black shirt and sweatband to abide by Wimbledon’s famously smart dress code.

Outside he was also approached by BBC Sport to give his opinions on the tournament, but said he had “no clue” when asked who would win the men’s competition. He then added that he “couldn’t say” who will come out on top for the women, either.

BBC took it all in good fun, though, posting the very short ‘interview’ with the caption: “Dave Grohl really didn’t want to give away his Wimbledon predictions.”

Shoutout to Wimbledon’s social media team, too, who shared a photo of Dave with the words: “What if we say Centre Court is not like the others.” Very good!
