“We’ve been trying to get Metallica to Sonic Temple for the last five years…” Check out the first big announcement for next year’s Columbus, Ohio heavy fest!

Along the way on their newly-announced M72 tour of North America next year, Metallica will headline Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival… twice.

The metal legends will be playing two of their awesome no-repeat shows at the Columbus, Ohio fest, which takes place from May 8 – 11, 2025. Also announced today is Rob Zombie supporting the band for their Friday night performance, and Alice In Chains warming things up nicely for ’tallica on Sunday, May 11.

As for the rest of Sonic Temple? That’s under wraps right now. The festival promise that “more than 100 bands, including two additional headliners”, will be unveiled, with announcements dropping daily from September 20.

“Every year we ask our fans who they want to see at Sonic Temple, and the answer this year was clear: Metallica!” enthuses Danny Wimmer. “We’ve been trying to get Metallica to Sonic Temple for the last five years, and are ready to bring two nights of Metallica to Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio next May.”

Danny adds that, “This is just the start; we’ll have more than 100 bands playing across four stages for four days, including Rob Zombie and Alice In Chains in direct support for Metallica. We’re so excited about this line-up that we’ll be announcing artists daily for the next month, so there’s a lot for fans to look forward to.”
