Slam Dunk share update on 2021 event: "We are absolutely determined to not let you go another year without a festival"
The Slam Dunk team state that "back-up plans are of course being made and the bands are being consulted with" while they await government guidance for the May event.
Like so many UK festivals whose futures are up in the air right now, Slam Dunk have stated that they are currently waiting for more government guidance regarding their 2021 event this coming May, adding that "back-up plans are of course being made".
The huge bank holiday weekender – which is set to feature the likes of Sum 41, Don Broco, NOFX, Billy Talent, While She Sleeps, Bury Tomorrow and State Champs – has not yet been postponed or cancelled as the Slam Dunk team are awaiting more information before they can make a call on what to do – adding that they "are aware that things aren't looking great for festivals at the end of May".

Slam Dunk add that they should know more information by the end of February, and will move the festival to later in the year if need be.

"We are aware that things aren’t looking great for festivals at the end of May. Currently, we are waiting for more government guidance on when events can return and when we know that we will take the action required. We believe this will be by the end of this month.
"Back up plans are of course being made and the bands are being consulted with. If we have to move to later in the year, we will, but we are absolutely determined to not let you go another year without a festival.
"Please bear with us and we thank you for your patience."

This summer's Download is of course in a similar position, with the festival letting fans know recently that the huge rock and metal bash – which is scheduled to take place between June 4 – 6, 2021 – is currently still going ahead as planned, though their social media team have been writing to followers that they "hope to have more news for you by March 1".
Fingers crossed…
