Sharon Osbourne Slams Tabloids For Spreading Rumours About Ozzy's Health

Ever since Ozzy Osbourne was hospitalised earlier this year with pneumonia, he’s been the focus of tabloid conjecture about the state of his health – especially because, once he was back home recovering, the Black Sabbath legend fell at home and injured his back, neck and shoulders. He also managed to dislodge the metal rods he had inserted after his ATV accident in 2003.

Following his fall, Ozzy had to postpone his 2019 tour dates until 2020, prompting the National Enquirer to report that he could “be dead by Christmas” and Radar Online to declare he was on “a crazy town to death.”

Those reports sparked ire in Ozzy’s wife and manager, Sharon. Never one to hold back exactly how she feels, Sharon let loose on the tabloids who had published sensationalist stories about her husband.

“I'm not lost for words a lot, as you all know,” she said, “but why do people just say this was true? How cold and callous are those headlines? Where's people's empathy? It's not true, by any stretch of the imagination.

“I’ve been open with everyone and so has Ozzy. He had a terrible, terrible bout of bad luck with his health, one thing after another. And then after his fall that he had, it's been awful for him.

“But he's getting better. He's recuperating. Why be like, 'He's on a crazy train…’ How disrespectful to anyone. Ozzy ain't going nowhere.”

Ozzy’s as-yet-untitled 12th solo album – inspired after his collaboration with Post Malone on the rapper’s Take What You Want - is currently in the works. Recorded with Post Malone producer Andrew Watt, Ozzy has said that making the new album gave him a new lease of life.

“If it wasn't for making this record,” he told The Sun, “I would still be on traction, thinking, 'I'm going to be lying here forever. I've missed music so badly. My fans are so loyal and so good. Up until making the album, I thought I was dying. But that got me off my arse."
