Sharon Osbourne says “of course” she’d be open to doing another Ozzfest one day
When asked by her husband Ozzy about the possibility of ever reviving Ozzfest, Sharon Osbourne doesn’t rule anything out…
It’s been several years now since the last standalone Ozzfest (on New Year’s Eve in 2018), but founder Sharon Osbourne hasn’t ruled out bringing it back.
In the latest episode of the always-entertaining The Osbournes Podcast, the iconic heavy metal family chat about various festivals – including Coachella, which is seemingly a big “no” from Jack, Kelly and Sharon these days, and Stagecoach, which they definitely think is the best one going right now – as well as their own legendary Ozzfest.
During the discussion, The Prince Of Darkness himself asks his wife if she’d ever put on another Ozzfest as a touring entity again, and her answer is short, but positive: “Yeah, sure. Of course.”
However, it prompts a wider discussion about the financial challenges of getting it all together, with Sharon asking: “Why is it when it comes to us that everybody thinks that we are trillionaires, and so that every manager who wants their band on our festival wants one of the fucking trillions they think we’ve got to put on the festival?”
Still, Jack notes how many festivals “over the last year or two” have a similar model to Ozzfest, and Sharon says that, “Well, it’s the same bands just going around and around and around. But that’s what’s so good, because we started something, people have taken it, and it’s still great for the genre. It’s really good.”
