See Slipknot’s Clown rocking out in the studio

Is Clown listening to Slipknot’s confirmed new song Long May You Die? Either way, he’s clearly enjoying what he’s hearing…

Just under a month on from announcing a brand-new song, it looks like Slipknot are back in the studio again.

Clown has taken to his Instagram stories to post a teaser clip – which, very unfortunately, has no sound, but it sees him sat at the mixing desk, excitedly leaning forwards, and then head-banging and thoroughly feeling whatever it is that he’s listening to (a breakdown, perhaps?).

It could be that he’s putting some final touches on the track Long May You Die, which the ’Knot revealed last month came about “during the recent recording sessions”.

Of course, this would be the first new material from Slipknot that we get to hear with Eloy Casagrande drumming on it. Their newest recruit recently confirmed in an interview that “part of the audition” was having them “throw new ideas at me to see what my songwriting was like”.

Late last year, we spoke to Clown about the band’s future, as well as their upcoming 25th anniversary tour.

“Slipknot now is about being true to ourselves, and we know what we want,” he said. “Honestly, brother, I’m really excited for everyone, for the future of Slipknot. I’m really excited for all of you guys, for what we want to do for ourselves. And if we work hard and do what we want to do, which we are, it’s really going to be an exciting 2024, and I think things are going to happen that you wouldn’t think ever could.”
