See Lucas Woodland sing Streetcar before he performs with FFAF this month

Well, this is exciting! Get a taste of what it’s gonna be like when Holding Absence’s Lucas Woodland fronts Funeral For A Friend at Slam Dunk in a couple of weeks’ time.

Following Matthew Davies-Kreye’s departure from the band late last year, Funeral For A Friend are gearing up for their first shows this month without him – and Lucas Woodland has been busy rehearsing too…

The Holding Absence singer will be temporarily stepping in and performing two very special dates with FFAF this month at Slam Dunk Festival (get your tickets here), and has posted a teaser clip completely nailing Hours classic Streetcar, bringing his own unique vocal talents while also staying faithful to the original.

Unfortunately this is the internet, though, and people are finding ways to be negative about it. But Matthew himself has come to Lucas’ rescue and commented on Instagram: “Loved this! @loocaswoodland you are an unbelievable talent, you are going to knock it out of the park and I couldn’t be more stoked and proud to hear you taking on these songs.

“Open minds and open hearts people! If you’re going to @slamdunkmusic this year, support the band, enjoy the show and have fun!”

Lucas also adds: “I’m not trying to ‘replace’ Matt – and of course I sing different to him! I’m just trying to help some inspirations of mine play 2 shows this summer. Sorry.”

For what it’s worth, we think this absolutely rules. Check it out:
