Poppy has surprise-dropped a new EP
Canadian genre-hater Poppy has partnered with WWE for the EAT (NXT Soundtrack) five-song EP.
Back in April, Poppy marked the end of her I Disagree era with a special live-streamed event, The Last Disagreement. Her next move could have been anything – it was hard to guess at. Then she released some vegan shoes with Koi Footwear.
Now, she's teamed up with WWE for a new EP, EAT (NXT Soundtrack). As well as previously released tracks EAT, Say Cheese and her cover of ’90s alt.rockers Jack Off Jill's Fear Of Dying, it also features new song Dark Dark World, which is due to be used as the theme for this Sunday's edition of NXT TakeOver: In Your House.

“NXT is all about individuality and building characters, and Poppy has built her own brand in a similar fashion to become the world-renowned artist she is today,” says WWE Executive Vice President, Global Talent Strategy & Development Paul Levesque of the collaboration.
“Poppy has been a staple within NXT for nearly three years and her music continues to resonate strongly with our passionate NXT fanbase,” adds Neil Lawi, Senior Vice President and General Manager, WWE Music Group. “Leveraging WWE’s global reach to release her new EP EAT (NXT Soundtrack) has proven yet again to be beneficial for both parties and we look forward to what the future holds.”

Poppy recently performed at the GRAMMYs, at which she premiered the killer EAT. Speaking to Kerrang! about being nominated for an award, the musician revealed of her feelings when the news came through: "It was unexpected, but it was great. The GRAMMYs are the GRAMMYs, they’re one of the biggest and greatest awards that you can get in music. But there are some people that I love and respect who have never been nominated, and it’s a very small percentage of people who get to have that attached to their name for the rest of their career – 'GRAMMY nominated’ or 'GRAMMY award winner’, whatever that may be. I never thought it would happen, but now I can call myself a GRAMMY nominated artist, and I am very excited about it (laughs).”
She also told K! about her love for heavy music and if that will feed into a new album: "I’d say yes to that. Though the new album that I’ve made is going to be left open to interpretation by the listener, I would say that it still has the influence of heavy music.”
