Paramore's Hayley Williams Will Release A New Single, Simmer, Tomorrow

The first single from Hayley Williams' new Petals For Armor project is arriving on January 22.

As the release date for Hayley Williams' Petals For Armor project edges ever closer (albeit painfully slowly), the Paramore vocalist has just teased another new slither information.

Hayley has revealed that Petal For Armor's debut single will go by the name Simmer, and is arriving tomorrow, January 22. Before announcing the information, she teased the project with a fairly spooky video showing the moon peaking through the trees, before the footage cut to a camera seemingly running through a dark forest. Very cryptic indeed.

She hasn't yet hinted as to what this new music will sound like, simply posting in late 2019: “I’m putting out some new music [in 2020]. With the help of some of my closest friends, I made something I’m going to call my own. It’s a really special project and you’ll get a taste of it in January.”

Paramore's most recent album, After Laughter, was released all the way back in 2017. It was the band's first record since the return of drummer Zac Farro, and the departure of bassist Jeremy Davis, who left back in 2015. In September last year, the trio unveiled a glasses collaboration while addressing their “current absence from the outside world”.

"We thought it’d be fun to remind you that the time we shared with you during After Laughter was one of the happiest in our band’s career, thus far," they said. “Thank you for understanding that we are taking a really nice break after grinding away for nearly 15 years! It’s so good to have a moment to just 'be'. Consider this our way of encouraging you to do the same and to take care of yourself however you feel is best.

“Paramore forever. We love you.”
