Paramore's Hayley Williams Is Releasing Solo Music This Year
The first taste of Hayley Williams' solo project will be arriving in January.
While things have been fairly unsure in the Paramore camp as to what's coming next from the band, one thing is for certain: vocalist Hayley Williams has solo music on the way.
Moreover, the singer has confirmed that the first taste of this material will be arriving this month, with more to come presumably throughout 2020 – though it's not known yet whether this might be a full album, an EP, or something else.
“I’m putting out some new music next year,” Hayley posted in a note on Twitter. “With the help of some of my closest friends, I made something I’m going to call my own. It’s a really special project and you’ll get a taste of it in January.”
While Hayley hasn't yet alluded to what this project may sound like, or even who else is involved, she did answer a question back in August about the state of rock music in 2019 and if it’s “still alive” by saying: “Is it dead or alive? I don’t think it dies because I’m not really sure that rock’n’roll – or even punk rock, for that matter, which I’m a huge fan of – I don’t think it can be reduced to a phase or a genre of music. I really think it’s something very much like fashion and culture. It lives in people."

In the same interview, Hayley added: “My first creative outlet was music, and even though people are going to see me in this kind of space with Brian [O’Connor, hair artist] a lot more, I don’t want people to forget. I was like, ‘I’m just going to leave this here and see you guys on the flip side.’ I really don’t know what’s next for Paramore, but the guys and I just had dinner the other night at my house. I think we’re just really enjoying being friends and adult human beings at home by ourselves without music."
Stay tuned…
