Pale Waves announce fourth album, release lead single Perfume: “The perfect introduction into the new world we’ve created”
Pale Waves have unveiled a gorgeous new single called Perfume, and announced details of their fourth album Smitten.
Fresh from a wonderful debut appearance at Slam Dunk, Pale Waves have announced details of their fourth album Smitten.
The four-piece will be releasing the follow-up to 2022’s pop-punk-leaning Unwanted on September 20 via Dirty Hit, with vocalist Heather Baron-Gracie sharing of the record, “I found myself writing about not just a certain time period, but my whole life, from years ago.
“When I fall in love, I fall deep, and it’s interesting to me that you can feel so fascinated and smitten with someone and then they can become a total stranger. So I feel like Smitten really summarised perfectly what I felt for others at a certain point.”
You can get a taste of what’s to come with lead single Perfume below – and, indeed, Heather calls the track “the perfect introduction into the new world we’ve created. It’s queer, feminine and romantic and it encapsulates the essence of Smitten.”
